Carpets

Turkey is the motherland of all carpets, and there's a carpet shop on nearly every street with salesman out front promising the best possible deals. We really didn't want a carpet, but it is an amazing craft. Our Rick Steves guide, Mert, took us to an excellent carpet shop where the owner took us into his basement and gave us very informative lecture on the fine art of carpet making.
